"Jack is an EASY RIDER. Sometimes a JOKER. Sometimes one of A FEW GOOD MEN. A guy who occasionally FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST. But in TERMS OF ENDEARMENT always came out SHINING and because he's better than any TWO JAKES. When it comes to acting, he always makes BROADCAST NEWS. The reason, Jack is AS GOOD AS IT GETS!"

Meryl Streep, hosting a New York dinner for director Mike Nichols on Monday night, shared an anecdote from Jack Nicholson, whom she called "my no-show co-ho" when he bowed out of his co-hosting duties. When Nichols collapsed with chest pains on the set of Wolf, Jack hovered over him until help arrived. When the doctor pushed the actor aside and demanded to know who he was, Nicholson, who was in full wolf make-up, deadpanned "his son," prompting Nichols to burst out laughing.

Remember the AFI's 100 Years, 100 Movies that was broadcast last year? Well, in June they are going to have "100 Years, 100 Stars". Jack will be featured in the tribute. I'm not sure on how the AFI will rank Mr. Nicholson but, I have a pretty good idea!

BIOGRAPHY
Jack Nicholson was born in New York City, NY on April 22nd 1937. Nicholson started out with low-budget movies, most of them produced by Roger Corman, when he captured the attention of Hollywood and Film Audiences in the cult hit film, "Easy Rider" in 1969. This gave Jack his first Oscar nomination and his breakthrough role. Nicholson has a total of eleven Academy Award nominations, the most by any male actor!
Some of his nominated performances include "Five Easy Pieces", "The Last Detial", "Chinatown", "Prizzi’s Honor", and "A Few Good Men". Nicholson’s naturalistic performance, with its minimal gestures and occasional explosions of temper, seemed to re-define screen pessimism for the decade.
Nicholson's private life mirrors his nonconformist roles. His sister turned out to be his mother and his mother his grandmother. Jack didn’t find out the truth about his family until 1974 when he was filming "The Fortune" with Warren Beatty. Nicholson had a four-year marriage to actress Sandra Knight, which led to a divorce. Jack also had a seventeen-year relationship with Anjelica Huston. He now shares his life with Rebecca Broussard and their two children, Raymond and Lorraine.
Some of his most memorable performances include a writer blocked into madness in "The shining", an obnoxious ex-astronaut in "Terms of Endearment", a sarcastic villain in "Batman", and an obsessive-compulsive in "As Good As It Gets." Nicholson is also known as an actor’s actor, a professional who takes on unlikely and challenging roles. He claims to choose his roles as much for the opportunity of working with actors he admires as for directors, and he has given some unusual character turns. Nicholson is also a big fan of the Los Angeles lakers. You may even see him sitting side court at most laker games.
Jack has three Academy Aawards for his outstanding performances in "Terms of Endearment", "One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest", and "As Good As it Gets." He also has half a dozen golden globe awards, screen actors award, and a life-time achievement award. Not to mention other numerous awards. He continues to give compelling performances that confirm his status as Hollywood's greatest actor of all time.

"I might be the only person on the face of the earth that knows you're the greatest woman on earth. I might be the only one who appreciates how amazing you are in every single thing that you do, and how you are with Spencer, "Spence", and in every single thought that you have, and how you say what you mean, and how you almost always mean something that's all about being straight and good. I think most people miss that about you, and I watch them, wondering how they can watch you bring their food, and clear their tables and never get that they just met the greatest woman alive. And the fact that I get it makes me feel good, about me"
